Combined Maritime Services has a core team of five full time employees headed by CEO Mr. Godwin Xerri. Depending on customers’ requirements, this team draws upon the skills of other specialized personnel to work on each particular project.
Godwin Xerri – Chief Executive Officer
Godwin Xerri graduated in economics from the University of Malta in 1976 and then went on to specialize in shipping and maritime economics. He obtained a diploma in shipping from the Norwegian Shipowners Association and subsequently qualified as a chartered shipbroker. He was promoted to fellow of The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, UK in 1990
He started his professional career in 1976 at the Central Bank of Malta and then moved to Sea Malta Co. Ltd were he held various positions over a twenty year career, including that of Managing Director between 1990 and 1998.
Since 1998 he is Managing Director of Focal Maritime Services Co. Ltd and Delta Container Services Ltd. (since 1999) and founding member of Combined Maritime Services a local maritime consultancy firm.
Godwin Xerri has served as a director on the Boards of various corporations and companies, including Malta Freeport Corporation., Bank of Valletta International and Tug Malta Co. Ltd.
He is also a Lecturer at the IMO International Maritime Law Institute (IMLI) and the Institute of Transport and Logistics
Judith Cilia – Company Secretary / Finance Manager
A qualified finance / tax consultant and a qualified accountant. Judith Cilia is a certified public accountant and registered auditor. She graduated from the University of Malta with a bachelor of commerce in 1993 and an accountancy degree in 1995. She obtained the warrant of a certified public accountant in 1998 and that of a registered auditor in 1999.
She worked with one of the big audit firms in Malta for three years as an audit senior in charge of audit assignments, covering various economic sectors. She then worked as a senior accountant in a local shipping company and in 2002 took the role of financial controller at Focal Maritime Services Company Limited.
In 2004, she set up her own practice performing accounting, consultancy, taxation and auditing services to a number of clients and continued with her role as Company Secretary for Combined Maritime Services.
Judith is a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants and sits on the board of directors of a number of companies.
Karen Mora– Corporate Services Assistant
Karen Mora holds a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies from Libre University. She oversees the day-to-day administrative requirements to ensure the proper functioning of the office, as well as handling ship registrations, certificate renewals, company formations and back-office services. Additionally, she serves as the primary point of contact for sales teams, clients, and vendors to maintain effective communication channels.
